Make Every Mile Count

I am thrilled to share that on November 3, 2024, I will be running the New York City Marathon! This will be my 4th marathon and a monumental step for me! After raising $2,000 in both 2021 and 2022, I’ve set a new goal of $3,000 for this year to support this incredible organization.

For those who may not be familiar with my journey, here’s a quick update. At the start of 2021, years of drinking and life’s challenges had led me to a very dark place. Thanks to the support of my sister, I found my way to Covenant Community, an intensive residential treatment program. I didn’t realize how much I needed recovery, but I committed to the program, and my life began to transform. While at Covenant, I joined Back on My Feet. Initially, running was a struggle, but with the encouragement of my teammates, I grew to love it and have now logged over 1,500 miles!

I graduated from Covenant Community in September 2022 and transitioned into supportive housing with others in recovery. I am now celebrating three years of working as a Residential Peer Specialist at Covenant Community, where I also serve as the House Manager for the transitional housing. Additionally, I have been working at Publix for three years. My role there continues to be a source of personal and professional growth.

In addition to my roles at Covenant and Publix, I continue to work towards my GED and am dedicated to making progress in my studies.

Throughout all of this, Back on My Feet has been a constant source of support. The community, mentorship, and friendships I’ve found have been invaluable. It feels like a second family to me, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back and help others experience the same support that I have.

Your contributions will go directly to Back on My Feet, helping to support individuals in their recovery journey and providing them with the resources and community they need to succeed. I am honored to fundraise for this cause and would greatly appreciate your support in reaching my goal of $3,000.

Thank you for your continued encouragement and generosity. Together, we can make a difference!

Grace and Peace
